The Apocalypse light installation mimics the iconic LED signs ubiquitous in convenience stores and other small businesses. The OPEN writing has the same shape, the same colors, and the same animation as the signs made in China and sold in electronics stores. Above the word OPEN is the word APOCALYPSE in backlight and it looks like a company logo. The letters ™ after the word APOCALYPSE, referring to a registered trademark, provide a commentary on how fear and the idea of ​​the end of the world as we know it are used for commercial purposes. At the bottom, in small type, is written *until the end. This note refers to the small print notes found on discount coupons which often limit or invalidate the promotion. If everything looks wonderful when the product is presented to us, don't forget to read the fine print. *until the end also nods to the fact that the last thing that will be around at the end of time is the apocalypse.
